Health

Take care of yourself people!

We may live in the sickest of times, not only socially, but in almost every aspect: mentally, spiritually, physically. I guess hygienics and nutrition seem to have improved, but even those seem to be double-edged swords. For all the exterior perception of a well-working society, one has only to tap the surface to discover that anti-depressive medication is all too prevalent, many more suffer from obesity than starvation, every second child is diagnosed with some kind of mental disorder, allergies seem to be the norm rather than the exception, and the list goes on. Dietary advice are often contradictory and most scientific reports seem to be repudiated within years.

As an individual, navigating through this maze may seem all but impossible. For every sickness one suffers, most often caused by the modern lifestyle, the available energy to take control of one's health and well-being is diminished. Expensive medicine may ease the sufferings, but seldom cure them. Meanwhile one gets more and more dependent on these drugs, meaning dependence on the profit margins of drug companies or government subsidies, both usually forcing you to keep living in the same environment that made you sick in the first place.

I write this section to tell you that it doesn't have to be this way.But it will be as long you continue to merely float along.

Perhaps there was a time when one could trust the pharmaceutical companies, doctors, scientist community or even the education, to work for the health and interest of their citizens, but that time is not now. You must rid yourself of all notions that the established consensus spewed out in mass media and our educational systems are anything but total lies.

This doesn't necessarily mean that you should avoid every and all advice from doctors and other authorities, but it does mean that you have to reclaim responsibility for your own health. It is up to you to inform yourself and do something about it. After all, there are few things that will play as big a role in your life and be as important as having a good health.

As always, we do not claim to sit on the absolute truth on these issues, but the first step on the road to knowledge is as always to start questioning the current paradigm.
